About this Event
*Please note that this training is intended for professionals working with children and young people based in Aberdeen.*
During this training event, we will first define child trafficking, look at how young people are recruited and controlled and the impact trafficking has on their overall health and well-being. We will then discuss the 'Non-punishment principle' in law along with other related legislation before moving on to discuss challenges around trafficking disclosures and the NRM process. We will also look at how trafficking and sexual exploitation are linked before defining child sexual exploitation, looking at the symptoms of CSE along with it's impact on health and well-being. We will then discuss ways professionals can support those at risk of sexual exploitation before we round up and summarise our learning.
Aims of the training:
To understand the connection between Child Trafficking and Child Sexual Exploitation.
To increase professionals confidence in identifying and dealing with cases of trafficking proactively.
To increase professionals confidence in identifying and dealing with cases of sexual exploitation proactively.
