RYA Sailing Basic Skills RYA Level 2
A two day RYA Sailing Basic Skills Dinghy Course (level 2)  for sailors who want to progress from start sailing - level 1 - (sailing under instruction), to sailing independently in light winds. This course is held a the start end end of the sailing season and is open to members and non members of the sailing club.
The course takes place using club training boats that can be hired by members once level 2 certification is achieved. 
The course follows the RYA syllabus and aims at developing confidence and competence of the participants to sail independently without an instructror. Attendees are expected to be RYA level 1 certified or have the equivalent skills and experience. A two hour taster session can be booked for an instructor to assess your confidence and competence prior to this course. Contact training@bcyc.org.uk
What Do I Need to Go Sailing?
The course provides all equipment that you will need, wetsuits, bouyancy aid and spray jacket. In the summer, a change of clothes and shorts can be worn - subject to the weather conditions.
You will need to provide shoes that can get wet (training shoes or pumps will do) and a towel. The club has lockable changing rooms and hot showers. Teas an coffees and be purchased at the club and there is food available on a Sunday. Most participants bring a packed lunch 
The course runs from 09:30 to 17:00 each day. 
How Much Will it Cost?
The two day course costs £220 for the public and £130 for BCYC members. RYA Sailing manual is available for £10 on the day. If you do not have an RYA logbook - one will be provided for £5
