Meet the Midlands Suppliers - Defence, Security and Cyber | Birmingham | Tuesday, 12. February 2019

About the visit:
This partially funded business trip will include a series of high profile activities, culminating in a facilitated ‘meet the supplier’ event where we have identified a number of UK manufacturers and service providers who welcome the opportunity of working with you and introducing themselves based on fulfilling your buyer requirements.
For your convenience we have provided a summary of activities that will be taking place during the visit:


Tuesday 12 February - Buyers arrive into the UK


Wednesday 13 February (AM) - 1:1 meetings with Midland’s suppliers at a Meet the Supplier event


Wednesday 13 February (PM)  - Exclusive welcome dinner at Marco Pierre Whites @ The Cube


Thursday 14 February - Additional 1:1 meetings and/or tailored site visits 


What to expect from joining the delegation:


You will be able to view the details of numerous suppliers from the Midlands, all of whom are keen to meet you


You can select up to 14 innovative UK suppliers to meet on a one to one basis


Two nights free accommodation


Free transport throughout the programme


Support throughout your visit from the Midlands Engine, Department for International Trade team and colleagues from the DIT Central Europe Network


A contribution of up to £300 towards your flight (*if your flight is less than £300 we will pay the full cost of your flight)


What can the Midlands offer you?


The Midlands region is home to a wide range of dynamic companies, developing in the growing cyber-security sector, with a  strong cluster in Worcestershire and the south Midlands, known as the 'Cyber-Valley'.

It is home to 20% of the top 600 companies in the UK, with more than 100 Small to Medium Enterprises within the cluster.

Great research and technical connections, particularly with Qinetiq - A UK research and technology company offering technical engineering and software services in the form of cyber security, weapons testing, training and simulation for the defence, aerospace and security sectors.
