Twilight Talk & Tour: The History of the Jewellery Quarter | Thursday, 10. September 2020

Rescheduled from 23rd April, take an atmospheric tour of our jewellery factory, followed by a talk on Birmingham's precious metal working history, plus two historic-themed alcoholic drinks*.

Enjoy a unique 'taste of history' in our Twilight Talk & Tour event at the museum of the Jewellery Quarter.

Join a costumed, atmospheric evening tour of the Smith & Pepper factory and sip some complimentary samples of alcoholic drinks that Jewellery Quarter workers would have enjoyed from the Victorian age right up to the 1980's.

After the tour, sit in on a talk discussing Birmingham’s precious metal working trades from their early beginnings in the medieval town, through two world wars and on to the present day. A trade that produced jewellery for royals, a host of celebrities and which also claimed to make ‘real jewellery for the world and his wife’. This fascinating and fully illustrated talk is given by local expert Rupert Fisher.

Accompanying the talk you can enjoy a complimentary Gin cocktail, whose recipe has been plucked from the Jewellery Quarter's fascinating past!

*Non alcoholic alternatives available.

Tickets are £20 per person.
