Mental Health First Aid - ***** Two Day Course | Tuesday, 09. June 2020

#WorldMentalHealthDay was on the 10th October, but we want to raise awareness all year round. Not just about mental health, but more specifically Mental Health First Aid, and what you can do when someone you know, either personally or in work, feels like they are currently losing the battle they **** every day.

Our Council’s own, Amanda Wilkinson is a MHFA Instuctor, and she would like to offer some courses so you and others know what to do in a crisis.

The two-day course is focussed around ***** mental health, and it will provide the skills to manage a mental health crisis, give a deeper understanding around the impact, inform you on how to spot the signs and symptoms of mental health, and help you feel confident guiding people towards the right support for them.

The course is delivered in 4 sections;

1. MHFA (Mental health and depression)

2. Depression (cont.) and suicidal crisis

3. Anxiety, personality disorders, eating disorders and self-harm

4. Psychosis, schizophrenia and bipolar disorder

On completion of the course, you will become a Mental Health First Aider – and mental health is just as important as physical health.

The course costs £225 per person, and includes lunch and refreshments throughout the two days, an MHFA manual, workbook and certificate. Dates and times are below.
