The Actors Toolbox; Alan Ayckbourn | Thursday, 20. August 2020

This fun and interactive four-day workshop for total beginners and experienced , will take you through

every step of how to build your character. You will learn about Alan Ayckbourn, his plays and to develop

a scripted scene to film at the end.

On this course you will learn;

• About the context of Alan Ayckbourn’s Plays, the man himself and what this means for acting

• How to break down the themes of a scene and understand its purpose.

• How to use the technique of actioning and how to apply this for believability

• How to build the history of a character and put your character in different scenarios

The course will culminate with your own finished recording of a duo scene . You can keep this for posterity

or share with family and friends.

What level is this aimed at?

While this course is in depth, it is still very much aimed at anyone, whatever stage of acting they are at,

even total beginners. This is a step by step approach where you will be guided every step of the way!

When will this be held?

The course will be held over four days where we will meet on zoom once a day as a group, and in paired

sessions . You will be asked to work by yourself in between.

Pre requisites

You will need to have access to a computor or tablet that can host the zoom software. Pieces will be filmed

on zoom.
