Beginners Introduction to Modular Synthesis.
New year, new course!We’re running another series of our ‘Introduction To Modular’ course, a beginner-level guide through the wires and devices that make up our favourite format. Over 4 sessions we’ll be going from basic terminology through to recording and performing with a Eurorack modular system. No prior experience required!'Introduction To Modular' is run at the Elevator Sound store on Stokes Croft in Bristol on Monday and Wednesday evenings in a friendly, informal environment. All the sessions are recorded and archived for you to revisit at any time and a Facebook group is set up for each class to share ideas, ask questions and explore the world of modular outside of the sessions.
The sessions are broken down as follows:Monday 7th - What IS a modular system? Basic ground rules, terminology and building a synth 9th - Rhythms and Time + How to design drum sounds from 14th - Bringing a patch to life. Complex modulation and FX 16th - Performance and Recording Techniques. Putting together a live setup and utilising Eurorack in a studio environment.
