What’s your story? How to engage the public through storytelling
Workshop aim

By the end of the workshop you will have learned the importance of stories to you as individuals and as part of an organisation. We shall teach you how to create and structure your own narrative in an engaging, focussed way.
You will learn how to tell your story in bold, exciting ways that will engage and enthuse your customers.

Who should attend

Anyone who wants to learn how to communicate their personal or companies ideas in a motivating and dynamic way.

What to expect

A full day of discussion, writing exercises and performance skills to help you and your business express yourself. Topics include:

Tell me your Story: Lively discussions on the important aspects of storytelling to you and your business.
There is an I in Team: Learning how vital the individual is. Characters don’t just make the story, Characters ARE the story
Write it Better: Learn how to construct your individual story with writing exercises designed to sell yourself.
The Hero’s Journey: How to write about failure in a positive manner and how to overcome all obstacles
Begin at the End: Look to your goals and talk about the obstructions that needed to be overcome to get there
Writing a sequel: What happens next, where you are going, how you will get there, what you will have to overcome

About the trainer
Dan Mitchell is a stand-up comedian, writer and storyteller. As a performer, he has supported the likes of Ross Noble and Eddie Izzard. As a writer he has written ghost stories for The Ghastling magazine, articles on health for The Guardian and topical humour and sketches for the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and MADETV. He appears regularly on BBC Radio Wales.
