Does your 12-16 year old teen love to bake and may be interested in learning about small businesses? This camp is just right for them. They’ll learn how food transitions from the farm to our tables. They’ll measure, weigh, and learn how yeast works and why it’s so important to be accurate when baking. Unlike cooking baking is a precise science.
In addition to learning to bake they’ll also learn the economics of how to price food they’ve made to sell at our simulated Farmers Market on Thursday afternoon. Campers will design their own market to “sell” their goods to family and friends with OCC Bucks.
Your Teen will have fun with our version of STEM: Science, Teamwork, Economics and Math.
Our sample menu includes: Hand made Jam and Apple Sauce; Cobbler, Scones, Pies, and Galette; Yeast, Sweet, and Quick Breads: Pretzels, Whipped cream and more. Camp includes desserts taken home daily, recipes, and an apron.
Please have your camper wear closed toe shoes, bring an apron, labeled water bottle, and have long hair pulled back for safety.
