ASIST ******* Prevention Training (for staff working with people in Edinburgh only) | Edinburgh Zoo | Monday, 09. September 2019

Applied ******* Prevention Training (ASIST) free of charge for Edinburgh staff working with at risk clients in Edinburgh.
About this Event
ASIST is delivered free of charge on behalf of the City of Edinburgh Council to all staff  (including non-council staff from the NHS, 3rd Sector, Police, HMP Saughton, Scottish Fire & Rescue Service) working with at risk people in Edinburgh.
ASIST is a two-day practical workshop developing skills through observation and supervised simulation in large and small groups. Applied ******* Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is intended as '******* first-aid' training. ASIST aims to enable helpers (anyone in a position of trust) to become more willing, ready and able to recognise and intervene effectively to help persons at risk of *******. With over one million people trained in ******* intervention skills, ASIST is by far the most widely used ******* intervention skills training in the world.
Please be aware you will be required to participate in all parts of the training, including role play while being observed by fellow trainees, who will provide positive feedback only.
Those with recent or still emotional experience of ******* are asked to consider whether this training is appropriate for you at this time.
If anyone is currently having thoughts of ******* the Samaritans can be phoned on 116 123.
