StreetCare Edinburgh 2019 - Monday Night volunteer sign up | Playfair House | Monday, 23. September 2019

StreetCare is a volunteer project run by Humanist Society that provides clothes, food and a non-judgemental conversation to homeless people.
StreetCare Edinburgh launched in October 2018 . Our volunteers meet every Monday night to distribute clothes and food and to offer a warm conversation to roofless and homeless people in the capital.
If you want to help please sign up to volunteer. All are welcome and the project is run by Humanist Society Scotland.  All volunters must abide by our StreetCare Guidelines and sign our Volunteer Agreement. You can request a copy by emailing streetcare@humanism.scot
Each Monday, two teams take a cart each to where homeless people are. We are grateful for the support of Gregg's Foundation who provide food from their Waverley Centre Store.
We are always in need of clothes donations. However, there are only certain things that people are willing to accept. Therefore to cut down on waste and to maximise volunteer time we only accept the following:

warm/waterproof jackets (not coats that can become heavy when wet)
jogging bottoms
hats (neutral colours preferred)
men and women's underwear (new)

People who do not have goods to donate but would like to purchase clothes for StreetCare can do so by donating here - https://www.humanism.scot/sponsor/
Please note that we cannot accept children's clothes, scarves or footwear as we are not able to distribute these in any significant volume.
We also welcome donations of travel sized toiletries along with toothbrushes and toothpaste.
These can be donated at the Humanist Society Scotland office: 6 Broughton Street Lane, Edinburgh, EH1 3LY (between 0930 and 1600 Monday to Friday).
