KentCLOTH Seasonal Spring Plant Dye and Print Workshop | Elmley National Nature Reserve | Friday, 07. June 2019

KentCLOTH Spring natural dye and print workshop at the Elmley Nature Reserve
As we approach the end of Spring, you will will be given the opportunity to explore Elmley Nature Reserve, with Francesca Baur from Fable & Base, to discover natural colour through print. We will walk and explore the marshes before returning to the barn for a taster session of print techniques.
As well as dyeing samples, we will be  looking at bundle and Hapa- zome printng  and we will focus on working with print pastes made from dye extracts and food waste, to screen print onto linen.
Ideas from the day will be used for collaborative Textile works created from the landscape using natural pigment pastes printed onto European linen which will be shown in an exhibition at the Rochester Art Gallery.
Workshops are part funded by Arts Council England as part of the Kent Cloth project. Work produced from the day will be exhibited as part of a colloaborative Kent Cloth exhibition at the Rochester Art Gallery from October 2019 - January 2020. Filming may take place during the day. You will be invited to the private view and work will be returned to you at the end of the project.
