The Great Get Together at Crow Wood Park | | Sunday, 08. July 2018

The Great Get Together at Crow Wood Sunday 8 July 2018 from 11am to 4pm - TICKETS TO AID PLANNING ONLY -TICKETS NOT REQUIRED ON THE DAY
'We Are Far More United Than The Things That Divide Us' – Jo ***
The Great Get Together is a desire to celebrate the memory of Jo *** who was tragically killed on 16 June 2018. There is a groundswell of opinion that agrees with Jo and rejects divisive politics. The organisers simply want to bring our communities together and celebrate all that unites us. For more information please see: www.greatgettogether.org
This event is our chance here in Sowerby Bridge to bring that spirit to life. So let’s all come together. Bring our families, friends, and neighbours in Sowerby Bridge and surrounding areas together. Come together to have fun, enjoy food and good conversations. Come reacquaint yourself with old friends and make new friends.
Last year The Great Get Together at Crow Wood Park was a huge success. On 8 July 2018 from 11am to 4pm we aim to repeat the event.
Free & Affordable Activities
We know these types of events can be expensive for families so some activities will be free and others will be affordably priced. We will have lots of activities taking place:

Music and Dance - six groups will be performing on the day. We have music to suit all ages and tastes from school choir to Jazz and more.

Bolton Brow PFA will be organising lots of activities for kids including tombolas, bouncy castle, stocks, kiddies tuck shop and hook a duck to name just a few.

King Cross Park RLFC will be providing some 'more challenging' games for those a little older.

The Sowerby Bridge Snails are hosting a run from the park at the same time, whether it's your first run or one of many, The Snails will welcome you all.

There will be lots of stalls selling everything you can think of including books, arts and crafts, clothes, make-up and much more.

 Drawing Competition
Schools are invited to take part in a drawing competition. We need a logo for The Great Get Together at Crow Wood Park. Each school is asked to hold an internal competition and put forward five of their best drawings. The winning drawing will be picked on the day and that will become our logo from 2019. The winner and runner-up will be presented with a prize.
When it comes to food, you can either:

bring a picnic and enjoy it at the park with family and friends OR

bring food to share with others. We will have a stall where everyone will leave food to share. You can leave your food and help yourself to what others have brought.

Volunteers will be providing free teas, coffees, biscuits, and cakes

The aim of the event is not to make money.  However, it is likely the event will raise some money that will be split between Bolton Brow School, Friends of Crow Wood Park, Memory Lane Café and some retained to support next year’s event. All the beneficiary organisations are voluntary groups or charities.
If you would like a stall for £15 or want to sponsor the event for £25 or simply like more information please see our event page on Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/events/218270402271329/ or contact Shabir Hussain on 07866369916 or email shabirhussain@bluebirdcare.co.uk
