Beacons Gang Show in a Weekend 2020 | Eastrington Village Hall | Friday, 20. March 2020

Beacons Gang Show is back with a 'Gang Show in a Weekend'.
A Gang Show is a variety show put on by Scouts and Guides. Beacons Gang Show is the Gang Show based in Blacktoft Beacon Scout District in East Yorkshire but is open to other members of The Scout Association nearby.
Gang Shows give Young People the chance to see what goes on in the theatre, and take on many of the roles within the theatre including being on stage, back stage and technical roles.
The 'Gang Show in a Weekend' is a chance for young people to rehearse and perform a show over the course of one weekend. At the moment due to leader support the Gang Show in a weekend is only open to members of The Scout Association, we will look to open this up to members of Guiding next time.
The performance is open to all to come and enjoy while the weekend is only open to Cubs, Scouts and Explorers, backstage roles are only open to those aged 16 and above. We do have a small number of technical roles for the weekend which will involve running the lights and sound during the performance, creating the programme and managing the media aspects of the show over the weekend.
The performer / Tech crew price incudes the overnight accommodation, food for the weekend.
The Performance will be on Sunday 22nd March between 13:00 and 15:00, doors open at 12:30.

Changes from 2019
We have decided to make the following changes from our 2019 Gang Show in a Weekend. If your child attended this it is worth checking this to see what is different:

We will have a dedicated ***** whos job it will be is to provide any support to the young people that they may need, this includes medication, home sickness, dealing with stress of the performance etc.
We are changing the way we reherse to ensure that we do not have long periods of rehersing a specific element of the show.
We will have more seperate sleeping arangements for the younger and the older cast and crew memebers allowing for the older cast and crew to have a later bed time than the younger ones.
We will have a onsite cook rather than someone coming in to allow for earlier meal times. We are also going to change the menu to allow for more appropriate meal times.
The arrival times have changed:     Actors now arrive at 18:00 to allow for more time to get to know the script on the Friday     Tech Crew now arrive with the Backstage Crew on the Saturday at 10:00
We have recruited another ***** into the main team to help with the running of the show
We are looking at more ***** support
We are putting into place a better front of house system ensuring reserved seats are reserved

We welcome any other suggestions or offers of support.
