MMO Core and MAGIC (Movement and Games in a chair) - Deighton Arena | Deighton Sports Arena | Thursday, 24. September 2020

Moving More Often is a series of training courses and workshops aimed to provide leaders with the theoretical and practical skills and knowledge to deliver and create sustainable physical activity opportunities across Kirklees. The programme consists of 3 FREE courses covering different topics and skills on each one. The CORE MODULE underpins theoretical knowledge in order to deliver safe, inclusive activity for all ages and abilities, particularly older people, people living with dementia and disabilities. The Core module also looks at aspects such as health and safety, motivating individuals to become more active, being a inclusive group and individuals barriers to being active.
The MAGIC  (Movement and Games in a Chair) workshop is very practical and aimed at training leaders to deliver chair based games and activities using a range of sensory equipment. This inclusive training module will give leaders ideas about how to deliver activity in chairs for all ages and abilities, particularly for older people, those who are less mobile and people experiencing memory problems.
