The General Certificate is split into 3 units (see below) and candidates are separately certificated for each unit. Candidates successfully completing all three will gain the widely recognised NEBOSH National General Certificate in Health and Safety.
The NEBOSH National General Certificate has been accredited and credit rated by the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA). It sits in the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) at SCQF Level 6 with 15 SCQF credit points.

Use practical approaches to managing safety at work

Avoid costly injuries or ill-health to employees

Ensure compliance with the law

Anticipate risks and deal with them

Analyse problem areas including accident statistics

Identify priorities for action

Succeed in reducing losses to the business 

Course Content:
The three units are:

NGC1 Management of health and safety

NGC2 Controlling workplace hazards

NGC3 Health and safety practical application
