Collect and Weave With Found Objects with Alice Fox - 2 Day Workshop | Saturday, 13. February 2021

This two-day workshop provides an introduction to some basic tapestry weave techniques using a frame loom and will show you how to incorporate found objects and materials into your woven surfaces and structures.

Working with a range of re-purposed and found materials, you will be encouraged to experiment and explore ways of working relevant to the materials you choose. Working off the frame on the second day you will explore ways to weave directly onto three dimensional objects.

Students are asked to bring:

A selection of found "threads" or long thin objects - these could be beach-combed ropes, feathers, twigs, wires ...

Any small three-dimensional objects you would like to work with, for example a small box (matchbox or tin), found driftwood, pebbles ...

Skill Level: Suitable for beginners as well as more experienced artists/makers.

Cost: £130 per person - includes materials and equipment use (but please note suggested objects to bring to the class, set out above). Complimentary tea and coffee provided.
