Plaster Casting Workshop (Nature-themed) | Friday, 02. October 2020

*Please note that we are running this workshop from our new branch in Bingley at 109-111 Main Street, Bingley, BD16 2HT.

Join artist and maker Tara Joy for a creative morning in which you will learn how to make your own beautiful flower nature plaster cast piece of artwork. No previous experience is necessary.

Over the course of the morning you will create two small tiles. There will be flowers and foliage for you to choose from however if there are any particular flowers or small objects you would like to cast, please bring these along with you and we will see what we can do.

The course will cover rolling out the clay, designing and arranging the flowers, greasing and sealing the frame, mixing and pouring in the plaster. We will have a tea break whilst the plaster sets and Tara will show you how to sand and finish your tiles. Finally you will come to the most exciting part of the workshop - pulling off the clay to reveal your cast!

You will be given a small sample pack to finish off your tiles at home as it is best to do this once they are completely dry, normally after a few days. Tara will also have additional materials for sale on the day for anyone who wants to make more tiles at home.

Cost: £60 per person - includes all materials and equipment use (clay and plaster, flowers and foliage and a sample sanding and finishing pack to take home with you). Complimentary tea and coffee provided.

Skill Level: suitable for beginners.
