Rust Marks With Alice Fox - Two Day Workshop | Saturday, 23. January 2021

Join Yorkshire artisit Alice Fox* for a 2-day workshop learning about the potential for using found rusty objects for printing and dyeing on paper and cloth. Using an experimental approach and found metal we will explore methods for transferring marks from rusty metal onto papers and fabrics. We will respond to and add to our marks with hand stitch to develop a series of samples or starting points for further work. Bring along some rusty objects of your own and see what potential they hold.

Some basic materials are provided by the tutor.

Participants are asked to bring:

A selection of A4 (approx) papers - cartridge and watercolour paper are ideal

A selection of fabric to experiment with - plain, natural and white or cream are best (cotton, linen or silk)

Any small found rusty metal objects (nails, washers, old cans, rusty tools etc)

Notebook and camera if wanted

(We will provide the other equipment and materials required for this workshop)

Skill level: Suitable for beginners

Cost: £130 - includes some materials and equipment use. Complimentary tea and coffee provided.
