Kansas workers' compensation 101 | Bukaty Companies | Wednesday, 26. August 2020

What happens when one of your employees gets hurt on the job?  What are their rights and your responsibilities? How exactly do you define a job-related injury?
Workers' compensation is a required insurance plan provided by the employer to pay employee benefits for job-related injuries, disability or death that arise out of and in the course of employment. By regulating litigation and benefits, the Worker's Compensation Act is designed to protect the interests of both employers and employees. Misunderstanding your workers' compensation requirements can lead to legal liabilities for your organization that could put you at financial risk.
This workshop will cover a range of topics to help you better understand the Workers' Compensation Act and minimize your risk. Topics include

employee and employer rights and responsibilities,

recent legislative and procedural changes to the law,

updates to forms and publications, and

requirements in electronic reporting.

Presenter: Ryan Boswell, Ombudsman, Kansas Department of Labor
This presenter will focus on Kansas law, however, some content will be applicable to all states.
