To understand the importance of good speech, language and communication skills.

To give a teacher and teaching assistant team the tools to:

Identify children suitable for Talk Boost

Deliver Talk Boost in their class.

Ideal for:
Education staff in any KS1 setting with children who are under achieving with poor language, vocabulary development or English as an additional language.
A teacher and teaching assistant from the setting should attend together as you will be trained as a team so that the skills of the intervention group are generalised more easily into the classroom.
Overview and benefits:
This course provides you with the understanding of how to use the Talk Boost programme which is a structured and robustly evidenced programme that can boost a child's communication by an average of 18 months after 10 weeks of intervention.
As an intervention programme, Talk Boost can assist primary schools to:
-       Increase the achievement of learners
-       Improve the quality of teaching
-       Develop pupils’ behaviour for learning

PLEASE NOTE: The course cost DOES NOT include the Talk Boost Intervention Pack (£500). After booking onto the course, you will recieve an email with an order form attached, this must be completed and returned at your earliest convenience. The pack will be handed to you on the day of the training. Please be mindful these are in heavy and large boxes and therefore it may not be appropriate to attend by public transport. If your setting already has an intervention pack, please ensure it is the latest (2016) edition and bring it with you on the day of the training. Please also be aware that there is only one intervention pack required per setting i.e. a teacher and a teaching assistant attending from the same setting only require one pack between them.
