London Cheese Project 2019 | Geffrye Museum of the Home | Saturday, 09. November 2019

London's original cheese festival returns to the Geffrye Museum, 9-10 November

Cheese lovers unite. The London Cheese Project is back for the fourth time at the Geffrye Museum in Hoxton for a two-day festival exploring Britain's thriving artisan cheese scene.

Taking place just a few weeks before Christmas, the ticketed event will see the museum's beautiful gardens transformed with hundreds of different artisan cheeses from a carefully curated line up of cheesemakers, cheesemongers and street food traders, serving cheesy festival specials.

The London Cheese Project works to raise awareness of Britain's dynamic artisan cheese scene, which has been revolutionised in recent years by a new generation of cheesemakers and cheesemongers.

A comprehensive line up of FREE talks and tastings in the live demo tent will take place throughout the days, exploring issues ranging from raw milk and terroir to how to create the perfect cheeseboard. More in-depth ticketed cheese and drinks masterclasses will also take place in the Culture Club, hosted by leading cheese experts.

There will also be free tours of the Geffrye museum's 18th Century Almshouses, where guides will reveal how Londoners used to live (and the cheeses they used to eat)*

For the first time, visitors will be able to build their own cheeseboard at the festival, choosing their favourite wedges of cheese from the different traders to create their own bespoke selection.

There will also be one-off cheeses created exclusively for the festival, live music, a Wall of Cheddar and children's activities, while bars will serve Les Caves de Pyrene natural wines and craft beer from Hackney Brewery.

*Spaces on these are limited and will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.
