A love of ospreys - Gary Jones | Cambrian Photography Ltd. | Saturday, 25. May 2019

In the early 1960’s Ospreys were all but extinct in the UK, only one breeding pair in Scotland survived, a direct result of human persecution but through the dedication of many individuals and Organisations since then, today they are thriving and spreading across the UK.
For many Years Gary has been passionate about these magnificent birds, their story is spellbinding, but to photograph an Osprey diving, as a Wildlife Photographer, well nothing else comes close. This Presentation will hopefully give you some appreciation of the massive challenges faced when trying to photograph these amazing birds in action.
Gary is a Professional Wildlife Photographer, spending much of his time photographing the Wildlife in his home country of Wales, but also in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland, and further afield to foreign shores. He leads many of his own Workshops and Tours in the British Isles and overseas, and also works as a Guide Photographer for the Wildlife Travel company Natoura Voyage.
First and foremost a Wildlife lover and Conservationist, Gary has been passionate about all things nature since his childhood. He spent much of his early days searching for birds nests, climbing trees, wading through rivers and coming home at night shattered and filthy dirty but totally happy and contented, well not much has changed, except these days he has a camera in his hand, and the wonders of nature and the memories that he witnesses are recorded for ever.
It’s not all about the image it’s the complete experience, is his outlook on his Photography, the Wildlife and its welfare is the single most important thing and this must never be compromised but most of all it’s all about that moment that you can’t anticipate, you have to be constantly watching for it, but be ready to welcome the unexpected.
