This course is aimed at total beginners who would like to learn the art of flower arranging and explore techniques to arrange flowers. We will introduce you to a range of techniques and each week you will take home your new creation. Requirements for tools, materials and flowers will be discussed at the first session. Materials are not Content• Modern flower arrangements• Wiring techniques• Leaf manipulation• Colour• Contemporary design
Course recourses required -Scissors, secateurs, apron.A jam jar (or small vase) and a bottle (or slim vase)Flowers and foliage to fill the jar and bottlePen and notebookSmart phone or camera to take photos of their own work
Guideline for flowers and foliageBetween 4 and 6 larger headed flowers i.e. roses, chrysanthemums, dahlias etcOther flowers such as Anemones, Veronica, Spray roses, Ammi, LisianthusFiller flowers such as waxflower, Alchemilla, gypsophila, aster – ideally a couple of different types, pittosporum, eucalyptus, ferns, ruscusSome interesting extras…rosehips, hawthorn berries, thistles, be creative.
