***** MHFA Course (Mental Health First Aid) 10/19 Nottingham | The Haven Centre | Thursday, 14. March 2019

The Mental Health (England) First Aid training course is focused on providing attendees with the confidence to support someone experiencing poor mental health. It is not a course for them to focus on a diagnosis but rather recognising the symptoms and then knowing what to do.
The main topics covered are:
v  Depression
v  *******
v  Self-Harm
v  Anxiety
v  Psychosis
v  Schizophrenia
v  Bi Polar
The aims are:
v  To preserve life where a person may be at risk of harm to themselves or others
v  To provide support to prevent the mental health issue from becoming more serious before professional help arrives
v  To promote the recovery of good mental health
v  To provide comfort to a person with a mental health issue
v  To raise awareness of mental health issues
v  To reduce stigma and discrimination
v  To improve own health and wellbeing
It is a 2-day course, delegates must attend both days in full to receive accreditation.
The course will start promptly at 9.30am and finish at 4.30pm on both days. Tea/coffee will be provided during breaks, a café is on site for hot/cold food & drink.
The cost of this course is usually £300 per delegate however, we have received funding to help offset most of this and the cost to you is only £110 per delegate.
We are a dedicated professional organisation with 2 MHFA (England) accredited instructors who have trained over 1000 delegates in 2017 & 2018 including professionals from the NHS, Probation Service, MoD, DWP, Rolls Royce, Canaan Trust, Broxtowe Borough Council, Erewash Borough Council as well as many non-professionals who wish to help family and friends.
We are also able to offer on-site training for organisations who wish to train more than 8 staff members, please contact the admin team if you wish to discuss options.
