#BrewEd is about debate and about breaking down silos. It’s about listening to people you wouldn't usually hear from, whether that’s because they’re from a different sector of education or maybe because they have a different political or pedagogical philosophy. We look to be challenged. We don’t do sponsorship and we don’t do product placement. No one makes a profit. Rule of thumb: if there’s a goody bag on the seat it’s not in the spirit of #BrewEd as Ed and Daryn set it up all those years ago.
FAQs
What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Walk / Cycle from the Railway Station.
Preston Railway Station – Leave by the main entrance, going past the ticket office and through the taxi rank. When you reach the junction with Fishergate Hill at the top of the ramp, turn left, heading down the hill.
South Meadow Lane is the seventh road on your left. At the junction of South Meadow Lane/Fishergate Hill, turn left. The Casa Ceramica tile shop is on the corner. Continue along South Meadow Lane, past the Cricketers Arms and the Hindu Temple - the road here now bends to the right and then to the left.
Keep walking ahead, past the Cricket Club on your left and the BAC Sports Ground on your right. We are located at the end of the road, next to the Railway Bridge and entrance to Miller Park.
Approximate Walking Time: 15 minutes
Taxi Cost: £4 approx
Drive: From North/East or South
Come off the M6 at Junction 31, Samlesbury. Follow the signs for Preston (A59). Go past the Tickled Trout Hotel and head up the hill. You will be travelling along the full length of the A59 New Hall Lane (approximately 3 miles). Eventually, you will come to a major T-Junction with the A6 London Road. Homebase will be in front of you.
Turn right at this junction. Go through two sets of lights (junction with Church Street, then the Bus Station). Continue along the A6 Ringway. Go straight ahead at the junction with Fishergate (Grey Friars and Black Bull Pub on the corner).
At the next junction, take the second left into Corporation Street, following signs for the Railway Station. Turn right at the staggered junction with Fishergate, past the Railway Station heading down Fishergate hill. Head through the next set of lights (Junction with Bow Lane).
After the lights take the fourth turning on the left into South Meadow Lane (Casa Ceramica tile shop is on the corner).   Continue along South Meadow Lane, past the Cricketers Arms and the Hindu Temple - the road here now bends to the right and then to the left.
We are located at the end of the road, next to the Railway Bridge and entrance to Miller Park.
