COOKING & GROWING HEALTHILY ON A LOW BUDGET | William Sutton Community Hall | Saturday, 22. September 2018

We are starting new sessions of diet and cookery lessons on the 22nd of September, and it will be an awesome opportunity to do gardening and discover new herbs and vegetables.
Every session will offer shopping and nutritional advice, planning and cooking altogether, families and children. By the end of this course, families will be confident about how to buy and cook a healthy and nutritional meal for their family. All the participants will also learn about food hygiene practices and which foods must be chosen to eat well.
The main goal is to develop social skills like cooperation and teamworking. When you join us, you will have the chance to spend quality time with your children and meet other local families, and everyone will have a fun time.
Plan for the 12 sessions covers:
1. An introduction of the various food groups and their effects on people and what nutrients they contain.
2. A discussion of nutrient value including how to shop and cook on a budget.
3. The information on the nutritional needs of people of different ages and the various diets.
4. How the environment influences food consumption and what negative effects can be.
5. How to plant vegetables and herbs for their own use.
The sessions will be arranged according to the group’s preferences and will include useful information.
So if you want to learn how to eat healthier and you also have the passion for gardening, come and join us! Please call Maria on 020 8090 1499 for further details. Emails are highly welcome too. Our contact details: performingproduction@gmail.com
