Dore and Totley Outdoor Taskforce - Totley Library Gardening | Totley Library/Totley Community Resource and Information Centre | Tuesday, 22. October 2019

Do you enjoy fresh air?
Do you gain satisfaction from completing a task and contributing to your community?
Gardening at Totley library is done by library volunteers and includes a variety of tasks. The library grounds are gradually being cleared, tidied and re-planted which involves some strenuous activities and those that are much lighter in effort. For example, we are removing shrubs, weeding, planting new plants (shrubs and bedding plants), and pruning existing plants. Individuals can contribute to whatever tasks they feel able to complete and/or those that match their abilities and experience.
If you would like to join us on one (or more) of our gardening sessions, simply click on ‘select date’ and choose the date you would like to attend. You will then be prompted to checkout to obtain your free ticket. Once you’ve accepted your ticket, your place is booked on the event(s).
We ask that you wear appropriate footwear and clothing for completing gardening activities, and also for the weather conditions that are forecast on the day you are booked to attend. Please also bring any additional items you may need on the day such as suncream, walking aids etc. Drinks (water, tea, coffee) will be provided, as will all equipment.  However if you would prefer to bring your own equipment, please do.
Although a short safety briefing will be completed at the start of the gardening session, please note each participant is responsible for their own health and safety whilst at the event and partakes at their own risk. We take no responsibility for any accident or injury caused during our events.
Cancellation of events: Events will be cancelled if there are extreme weather conditions forecast, e.g. heavy rain, thunderstorms or very high temperatures.
Directions: Totley Library/Community Resource and Information Centre can be accessed from the top of Lemont Road or by parking on Baslow Road and walking down the footpath on your left by the hedge (when facing out of town).
