Voice Workout Sheffield | Sheffield Theatres | Wednesday, 09. January 2019

Voice Workout is back! Come along to Sheffield Theatres each month and give your voice some attention. Each session will focus on a different aspect of voice technique, accent approaches or text work. Whether you've got a presentation at work, an audition or performance ahead, or just an interest in how the voice works, these sessions are for you.Due to an exciting collaboration with the newly formed Northern Voice Collective, we will be introducing you to some flipping brilliant guest tutors over the course of this year and hopefully providing extra sessions from 2019, so keep your eyes peeled. Voice Workout is growing!

October 3rd - Preparing Your Voice for Speech; Whether you've a presentation coming up at work or a performance on the horizon, come along and learn about the required body and voice preparation routine. The first step to discovering your vocal potential. Crucible Rehearsal Room
November 14th - General Amercian & RP: Looking at these highly requested accents for actors. A breakdown of the key features and, time permitting, the chance to work on some text. 
December 5th -  Increasing Vocal Clarity: Whether you feel your articulation needs a little attention or your clarity of thought needs some focus, this session will be helpful. An articulation focused warm up and some exercises on communication of the thought, whether thats the characters thought or the next idea in your work presentation! 
January 8th - New Year New Voice: A good old look at the warm up progression to start the year and prepare us for the sessions ahead. 
February 6th - Playing with Vocal Range: A little exploration into pushing the boundaries of your vocal range and abilities. Some exercises in resonance and use of pitch.
March 13th - Guest Tutor, TBC
April 10th - Sight Reading and Text Work: Your chance to practise sight reading and pick up some tips on the best approach to cold reading. 

As usual we have 2 sessions on each date; 3pm - 5pm & 6pm - 8pm. Thank you to the Making Room for supporting this venture. 
*Sessions are subject to change at the discretion of Nic Redman Voice. Please arrive on time and wear comfortable clothing that allows easy physical movement. Water is also recommended. **Refunds are available until 24hrs before the class. Please be aware that these sessions are very popular so do let me know if you can't make it and I can make the ticket available to someone on the waiting list.
