Wound Care Training for Healthcare Assistants 14th Feb 2019 | Farnham Hospital | Thursday, 14. February 2019

This half day training provides an update for healthcare assistants familiar with providing wound care. It is also a good training session for healthcare assistants who are new to providing wound care.
Learning Outcomes

To describe the anatomy and physiology of the skin
To develop awareness of the wound healing process and factors which may influence this
To understand the management of acute wounds that may present in the clinical environment to include simple burns, surgical wounds
To understand the role of sutures in wound closure and how to remove clips and sutures
To discuss the types of wounds and the wound healing process
How to identify an infected wound and the actions to take
To have a knowledge of policies and procedures that support the carer in clinical practice to include accountability

Venue
The training is delivered by The Learning Enterprise, at Farnham Hospital, Hale Road, Surrey, Farnham, Surrey, GU9 9QL. The training will be held in the Large Training Room; follow the signs to ‘Learning and Development’ delegates will find The Learning Enterprise offices, and the training room. Tea and coffee will be provided.
Additional Information
There is free parking on-site but delegates are asked to get there early to ensure a parking space on site. Refreshments will be available during the session.
Terms & Conditions

Spaces are only for NHS employees in member practices within the following organisations: North West Surrey CCG , Guildford and Waverley CCG, East Surrey CCG, Surrey Downs CCG Surrey Heath CCG.
Charges will apply if the person attending does not work in one of the member practices within the CCG areas above.
Spaces must be booked under the name & contact details of the person attending. Multiple bookings made under the same details may be subject to cancellation.
Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours’ prior to the course date.
Non-attendance or failure to cancel may result in a charge of up to £96 (this may be higher for certain courses). Failure to cancel and non-attendance also means that those on the waiting list are unable to be offered this place.
