Mary Anne Crook and Marion Willers are based in the Lincoln area have trained over 2,000 people in ******* intervention skills, including delivery for LPFT, City of Lincoln Council, The University of Lincoln and CPSL MIND’s Stop ******* Campaign. Now self-employed independent trainers, we deliver the workshops throughout the UK for a variety of clients. WE ARE THE MOST EXPERIENCED ASIST TRAINING TEAM IN ENGLAND.


ASIST


Applied ******* Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is a two-day interactive workshop in ******* first aid. ASIST teaches participants to recognize when someone may have thoughts of ******* and work with them to identify their unique reason to stay safe for now, and create a plan to support this. You don’t have to be a professional to attend, but everyone who works with adults facing difficulties in life should have this training.


Learning goals and objectives


Over the course of their two-day workshop, ASIST participants learn to:




Understand the ways that attitudes affect views on ******* and interventions




Provide guidance and ******* first aid to a person at risk in ways that meet their individual safety needs




Identify the key elements of an effective ******* safety plan and the actions required to implement it




Appreciate the availability and use of ******* prevention resources in the community at large




Recognize other important aspects of ******* prevention including life-promotion and self-care

The courses are suitable for anyone, including those working in health, social services, the voluntary sector, student support, pastoral care, housing, addictions, victim support, veterans support, youth work and social care.Many attend simply because having experienced loss to *******, they want to be better equipped to recognise and deal with any future situation.


PLEASE ARRIVE AT LEAST 5 MINUTES BEFORE THE START OF THE COURSE. PEOPLE WHO ARRIVE SIGNIFICANTLY LATE WILL NOT BE ADMITTED TO THE COURSE. IT IS NECESSARY TO ATTEND FOR THE WHOLE OF THE 2 DAYS. THE VENUE HAS LIMITED PARKING. Please bring your lunch with you. Teas and coffees will be provided.

It is important that participants recognise that these trainings are not therapy, and the course content means that anyone with current thoughts of *******, recent bereavement by ******* or who is struggling with mental health issues should consider whether this is the right time to attend, and should seek appropriate sources of support.
