Inspired Palmer Writing and Drawing Workshop | Westerham Hall | Sunday, 13. October 2019

Bring a postcard, photo or painting of a local landscape that you particularly like as inspiration for an informal artist-led creative writing and drawing session. We will collect, share, write and illustrate stories about the local landscape and what it means to you. We will bring examples of Samuel Palmer’s paintings inspired by the Darent Valley as a starting point and extra inspiration.
In this workshop artists from Kinetika will introduce the Inspired Landscapes project and through a range of creative activities including writing, drawing, photography and silk painting will work with participants across the Valley to start to think about stories and personal connections to the landscape, using Samuel Palmer's paintings as inspiration.
The Inspired Palmer Landscapes project is an exciting and engaging creative project which will work with communities to explore, reveal and celebrate the stories of individual places and local landscapes of the Darent Valley. Creative workshop events will draw together communities and individuals to investigate the history that has shaped the Darent Valley. Stories will be communicated through a variety of creative forms, inspired by Samuel Palmer’s connection with the valley. This project will culminate in a celebration event in spring / summer 2021 to enable the wider community to enjoy and learn about the Darent Valley’s heritage and celebrate their own heritage connections to the landscape.
Join artists from Kinetika to share and capture your stories, memories and personal connections to the Darent Valley landscape. There are two workshops on this date and you can do either or both workshops, sign up for the afternoon workshop here.
Bring a packed lunch, and/or a snack.
